2010 FX4 HorsePower help
So far I have magnaflow single in dual out, did the gotts mod, drop in K&N filter, and I have a SCT programmer. Its also got a 2 inch leveling kit. Just wondering what my next step is to getting more power.. Thanks guys look forward to what y'all have to say
-Custom tune, if you don't have already
-long tube headers
-Gears
-supercharger
You should see noticeable gains from any one of those. Anything else like throttle body spacers, shorty headers, etc. are waste of money and time.

I agree with all of these but the gears. the OP said he wanted more power, gears will give you no power gain but slightly better acceleration (definitely not enough to be worth the crazy price IMO) worse fuel economy and a lower top speed. the only reason I could see re-gearing being justifiable is if you had like 3.31's from the factory and went to a much taller tire.
You mentioned that you have a SCT programmer. Are you running the canned tunes, or have you ordered custom tunes for it? It matters.
Some of the answers you seek, will be found in the supercharger section in here. Spend some time researching. But you gotta pay to play, which is the reason I haven't jumped in that direction. You've done the cheap and quick ones, from here it's gonna start to cost some serious coin.

it is made to be a good stock/slightly upgraded engine. it respond to mods fairly well though. turbo that bisshhhh and go scare some rice.

a turbo will lag, S/C wont. but you can manage more boost with a turbo but tuning might be a slight hassle.
most S/C kits come with new bigger injectors, a turbo might need a separate purchase and the piping needed is a pain.
a S/C has built in air-charge cooling, Turbo heats the air up a bit and then you get into air-charge coolers and piping.
really, what do you want? a cool one off or proven, reliable power?
this power upgrade slope is a slippery sunofaB. i have slid down it with my 350.

custom tunes for a slightly modded 5.4 wont get you that much power but the smoothness of delivery and the trans tuning done by a reputable shop cant be beat.
a turbocharger will be much more costly than a supercharger when there is no readily available kit for our trucks. off the top of my head, you would need at least:
-the turbo
-intercooler
-custom manifolds
-custom downpipe
-wastegate
-blow-off valve
-larger injectors
-possibly a larger fuel pump
-a ton of hoses, piping, clamps, etc.
-remove your oil pan to punch out a hole in it for the turbo oil feed line
-a way to tune all of it
and generally on a stock bottom end that's cast, not forged, you're going to start cracking pistons or bending rods with more than 8-9psi. in my opinion it's not worth it at all considering that that would probably gain you 100ish WHP.
no offense but if you want a "fast" half-ton truck your best bet is to trade your in for an EcoBoost.
