Aux Lights wired into 7-Way Trailer Socket

I realize there may be another thread on this topic, but just looking for direct simple clairification on this subject..

I am looking to get info on adding Reverse lights that are in the new rear bumper I am getting. I really don't need a switch so just when truck goes in reverse is fine..

What is the wire I can tap into on the 7-way Factory Socket trailer package to get the power and correct turn-on when truck was in reverse ?

I can just peel back and spice into this wire correct and ground to chasis or frame of truck ??

Thanks for any information in advance !!

Why not tap into one of the existing backup light wires?

Reverse light should be in the center:

Tapping into existing light wires is not the preferred method if another method is available.

FYI if you tap into one of the existing wires your Aux lights will be very dim... much brighter if you run a relay with constant power from the battery and then use the reverse lights to trigger the relay... I've done a full write up on this and put mine in with three triggers... mine come on while in reverse, I also can flip a switch hidden in one of the cubby holes that only works when the ignition is on... and they also come on when i keyless entry like the headlights do but that is only accessable when the ignition is off so they don't come on everytime i open the door when the truck is running... lemme see if I can find you a link to the post...

I think the full write up is on another site... but here's a post with the wiring diagram... someone else brought up a three way switch thats gives another option but an the least run a relay with constant power from the battery and just use the rev lights where ever you want to grab them (I did it in the right kickpanel) just to trigger the relay you'll get brighter lights and not put near the stress on your oem wiring...
