Leveling her out

Hey everyone,

I understand the subject of levels is very common on the boards, and yes I searched the boards for a definite answer but just couldn't find one so here it goes. I own a 2011 FX4 and I'm looking to level her to fit XD Monsters 18x9 w/ 18mm offset wrapped in GY Dura Tracs 295/65/18 (33s). Here are my questions:

1. I am looking at the AS 2" w/ AAL or the 2.5" w/ AAL kit, what do you recommend? My parameters, I would like the truck level or with a small forward rake. When I tow I do not want the truck to go nose high.

2. Will the 33" fill my wheel well with either kit, or will the wheels/tires look small?

3. I have heard that 2.5" levels can put additional strain on the front end components, is this a legit worry? It seems 2.5" levels are very popular, is everyone just sucking it up and hope nothing goes wrong, or are the chances that something will fail because of the level slim?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and once again I apologize if this topic is getting old. I promise I did my research before resorting to a post

Sam

Considered leveling shocks up front, and airbags in the rear for towing? Bilstein 5100 or rancho quick lift. Monroe is having a 3 for 4 sale till the end of october.......

I would go with the 2.5 kit. I have a 2.5 rough country on mine and it is dead on level. Plus that gives more room for the wheels. The best way to check what your trucks needs is to put on level ground measure and use a level on the running boards. Raise the frontend to match the back and look at the level. This will give you the best idea of what kit to get. I used this method on my Expy and worked perfectly.
