17" winter rims on a 2011 FX4 with OEM 18"s

Hi, I did a search for 17" rims in the "search" tab and got nothing, so I'll ask the quick question.

Im wondering will 17" steel wheels fit on my 2011 fx4? I looked at the front calipers and they look awfully close to the 18" stock rims inside walls.

I ordered 17"s and blizzacks (same diameter as my 18"s) due to a savings of over $300. But wondering if they will fit now. I know the truck has 17" rims on some models, but maybe the brake/caliper size is different on those as well.

Anybody know? is my choice of smaller rims but bigger sidewall tires a bad one?

Thanks.

A quick part number search shows the same Motorcraft caliper part number for both an FX4 with 18" rims and an XLT with 17" rims so you should be good.

You'll be fine, I have stock 17" rims and 18" FX4 rims for my 2009 F150.

I have been running 255/75/17 Silent Armors year around and they have been great in all conditions. I recently bought some FX4 rims with LTX ms2's and will run them in the summer and the silent armors in the winter. Typically a tad narrower tire works well in the snow. I've been running winter setups on various vehicles for past 15 yrs fwiw.

You'll be happy with those blizzaks, a buddy of mine ran them on his f150 and they are like glue on the ice, don't even need 4x4 anymore :-)

Any snow out east?

snow? god now, this has been the best summer EVER for weather, but we got a RDF October. Figure cus the worlds gunna end Dec 21, 2012 that mother nature gave us a break. Anyway, I went with 265/70/17's to match up with my OEM 275/65/18's. My speed will be off by 1.5% but thats it.

My '10 came stock with 275/65/18, and I run 285/70/17 Blizzak DMV1 in the winter on Stock 2010 XLT 17's. They fit perfectly fine.

The standard wheel size on these trucks is 17" so only issue you might face is that the calipers got fatter Model Year 2010 and some (not all) 17" rims that would ordinarily have fit 2004-09 models will rub on the lateral surface of the newer calipers. I would hope that any place selling rims for a 2011 F-150 would know this. If it rubs, you'll need different rims, spacers are NOT RECOMMENDED!
