Well, that sucked.

So I am not a smoker but I keep the cigarette lighter in there just in case. I had a buddy need a light so I pushed it in for him to light up. I've had the car over 2 year and have never used the lighter. I had my hand down there waiting for it to heat up and when it was done, it literally popped out into my hand, burning the **** out of me. LIght it again, keeps popping out. Literally jumps into the little cubbie under the center console. Anyone have this problem? Not very happy with my burned hand...

Although it has never lit a smoke, mine works as it should. Next time you are at the dealer, swap it out for another......

The night I got my 04 I was on the way home and it was dark. I was playing with everything and pushed the cigarette lighter in. I heard it pop and saw a "red flash" go into the back seat. Luckily it didn't burn a hole in anything.

I never used the cigarette lighter anyways so I eliminated it and bought an FX4 plate to go in its place.

Does it fit ok in the lighter socket? I read that it will not work in some vehicles.

I'd like to have a couple of those.

I would have told my buddy, "tough *****".. Not going to smoke in my rig, much less use the lighter..

That being said, it should NOT pop out completely from the socket! It's supposed to have an indent in it that 'pops'.. Then you pull it out and light your coffin nail.

I say this being coffin nail free for the last 18+ years... I used to smoke and loved it! Quit because it was costing $2/pack back then and I really stunk..
