Someone at work told me about this. The State of WV has an alternative fuel tax credit and the flex-fuel vehicles are eligible. You get a percentage of the purchase price back as a tax credit/return up to $10,000. You can amend last years return to get the credit.

The tax code for WV it says:

"Fuel mixtures that contain eighty-five percent or more by volume, when combined with gasoline or other fuels, of the following:
A. Methanol,
B. Ethanol, or
C. Other alcohol;"
etc....

The way I read that it means that to qualify the vehicle must use fuel that is 85% Ethanol.

Is that how you guys read that?

I don't see where it says you have to *USE* E85, just that the vehicle is capable/certified to use it.

Nope, it just has to be compatible. We don't have an E85 station anywhere near Charleston and a bunch if my co-workers and my dad have received the credit.
