2011 5.0L Screw sensitive brakes

Recently purchased a low mileage XLT Screw with 5.0L. Have noticed the brakes seem sensitive IE: not much pedal pressure to get results This truck has the adjustable pedals option and was wondering if that is inherent with said option. Have driven 2011s w/o the adj. pedal option and the brakes don't seem as sensitive.

my 2010 was very sensitive and my 12 in not. its just the way some are, the 10 would lock up for a brief second then it would back off. where as the 12 i have to stand on it to get it to lock up. both are very stout when it comes to stooping but one was set a littler tighter is all or less play.

I've noticed this in my 2012 also. It almost seems as though there is a "panic braking" sensor that makes them apply even harder. For example the other day I was cruising along on the freeway and tapped the brakes to slow for a car in the left lane not passing.. The truck did a nosedive like I was standing on the pedal.

The same sort of thing happens when I cruise up to the stop sign a block from my house. If I gently ride the pedal to slow down, then let off for a second or two, and then gently push the pedal again the brakes reapply WAY HARDER than they did the first time. I am sure there is some explanation, but it results in providing a very inconsistent herky-jerky ride.

I'd venture to say it sounds as tho the pads aren't returning to rest.

Sounds like the master cylinder isn't releasing pressure.

Possibly just sticky pads.

Not sure. It could be just a learning curve for people coming from a older f150 with the mushy brakes. Now I'm learning to lightly touch the pedal and slightly increase pressure, it's fine.
