4X2 Leveling kit with Trail Grapplers

I don't want to .

I have searched and still can't come up with a solid answer. I have a 2010 FX2, I need to get new tires and would like to go with an aggressive tire so I chose the Nitto Trail Grapplers, well not yet but leaning very heavily towards them. This is going to be a road king, not many places in Orange County with dirt so the tires won't be used for their intended purpose.

So this leads me to have to get a leveling kit. This is where things get interesting, I cannot find anyone that gives a strait forward answer as to what kit will get me a "leveled look" on a 4x2. It seems like every post out there is intended for the 4x4's. I would like to avoid having to mess with the back end. So is there a magic kit out there that someone has used?

Last question, after my truck gets leveled what size Trail Grapplers can I shove in there?

Thanks

2" level will yield the most level "look", however a
2.5" level will truly level. You can fit all the way up to a 35" tire depending on what wheels you use.

A stock 2wd and a stock 4wd both have close to the same amount of rake, but the 2wd sits about 1" lower in total height. With that said, it will take the same amount to level a 2wd as a 4wd, but the overall truck height will be a little lower than a 4wd. On a 2010, a 2" leveling kit will get you closest to level, and you won't have to lift the rear any. As far as tire size, that all depends on if you stick with stock wheels or go with aftermarket, but you would be safe running a 33" or 34" tire with no rubbing.

Thanks for responses guys!

I omitted saying I will be keeping my stock 20's.

That's the issue I had during my search, some say 2 some say 2.5? Still no difinitive answer. I think rather than gamble, I'm going with a 2". I'd rather have a rake than sit nose high.

In regards to the kit, I take it the Auto Springs would do?

Yes, the auto spring will be fine. On the 09-12s, all you need is 2" to get level, and a 2.5" may make the front sit a little higher, so I would go with 2".

I decided to go with the Terra Grapplers instead of the trails due to the fact I won't be offroading. That being said, will I have any issues running the 295/60/20's with 2" Auto Springs?

Probably...
That setup works on a 4X4 but I think you'll need a bit more lift to make it work on a 4x2. Maybe you can trim enough to make it work?? But you'll probably need a 2.5" level and bigger blocks in the rear. The tires are 34.45".
FWIW, I have a 2" Autospring w/ 295/60/20 Trail Grapplers on my 4x4.

Am I pushing it with 34.45? I really don't want to go with LT305/55R20 33's being close in size to stock.

It´s still a work in progress, but i like the way it came out, still thinking of getting fender flares and might go for running boards as well
Sorry for the bad quality of the pictures and it being filthy..

Not at all, maybe a bit troublesome to get in for the not so agile, but that can be solved with running boards (which i´m planning to get).
The ride (and this is my personal taste, your mileage may differ) has not been affected but my wife insist in that it´s a bit "rough".
Fuel consumption as far as i can see has not been affected and if so, it´s by a very small margin.
Stability, well, you do feel you have issues on tight corners and high speeds, but at the same time, this is not your mom´s corvette so being aware you´re on a truck and how they should be drove is all it takes.
As for appearance, IMHO it´s a gigantic upgrade(once again, in my humble opinion)

Bottom line, i´m very happy with it, if you ask me, i´ll say go for it
Best regards

Ron

How long have you had it installed? I keep hearing that 3" level puts too much stress on the control arm or ball joint area because of the angle. BTW, truck looks awesome
