2009 F150 Platinum Question

I am new to the forum and in the market for a truck. I have been looking at either a 2009 Platinum or a new one with the ecoboost. I really don't want to spend the money on a new one but it seems that the used ones haven't depreciated all that much and are still pretty high. So I have been looking at some 2009's. I have seen prices on these anywhere from $27k to $33+. Have any of you purchased one lately and what seems to be the actual purchase price??? Thanks for any insight!

One great thing about an F150 is that it has a very high resale value. 4X4 makes it even better. I actually looked at trading my 2010 XLT Supercrew 4X4 in a couple of months ago. I bought it used and they offered me within spitting distance of what I gave for it. I kept my 2010 and am happy that I did.

You are aware that 27-33K would represent a depreciation of 30-40% right? Thats pretty much par for most used vehicles nowadays.

Do your homework at area dealerships. I bought my 2010 platinum with 127 miles on it in 2011 for $37,000.

Why buy a truck with the 5.4 when you can get a 5.0 or EB? More power and better gas mileage.

I just traded my 2009 Platinum, got $25,500 for it with 48k miles. Dealer listed it at $27999, it was gone within 3 weeks.

I paid $31600 for it new in Oct 2009. With the 2013 coming with projector headlights and new sync stuff, I would expect the end of year discounts on 2012 Platinums to be very high once the 2013's show up.

127 miles, it was ordered and the purchaser backed out so it sat on the lot until I stumbled upon it after my 6.0 powerstroke spit the bit.
