Vibration noise issue
Vibration noise issue
So I've finally got my truck back a few weeks ago and I hadnt used it because of work. Anyways so I take it out on the highway and as soon as I hit cruising speed (65 with cruise control) I started climbing an overpass and I heard this noise like a can rattling in the bed of my truck. I ignored it for a while but a few miles down the road it got annoying. I stopped and checked the bed (emptied the bits of junk in a trash can) checked under the truck and checked under the hood.... Nothing. So I hit the road again and as soon as I replicated conditions (65mph cruise control and going up and overpass) my truck started doing it again. I let it be because it was the weekend and I didn't call the dealer all week because work takes priority.
I hook up the flatbed 18ft trailer to it today and I payed more attention to the noise. I noticed it does it between 45 and 60 when downshifting from 6th to 4th or 5th.
I called the dealer and I am now treated like a car hypochondriac (spelling?) the lead service rep said "well if there is no check engine light and it's still running then it's not a big deal". Really? So do I have to wait for it to leave me stranded on the way home for you to fix it? He told me to not bring it in until next week because they wouldn't even be able to look at it until then.
I am again very dissapointed with the quality of customer service I have recieved from the ford dealers I have been to in my area. This dealer I called is the one who fixed my truck last time and they are the ones highly recommended by ford. I love these trucks and they are the best light duty pickups out there but this is the second one we one in a row that has been problematic and the customer service is horrible (at least in my region).
Please don't think this is a f150 bash or me flaming a ford product. I'm just frustrated an venting.
If any of you have had a similar issue with the noise I discribed please let me know. I will be taking my truck back to the shop next week and it would be great if it was something simple to avoid a trip there.

Sad to say, but onboard computers ruined "Techs".
None seem to have mechanical abilities anymore.
"If it's not throwing a code, there's nothing wrong".
"Nature of the beast, they all do that".
BTW, Harley Davidson dealers are just as bad.
