New 2011 Pricing- What Should I Pay?
New 2011 Pricing- What Should I Pay?
I have found a new 2011 F-150 Crew Cab short Box 4x4 Lariat with the 6.2L V8 on a local dealers lot. I think there is 30 miles on it and the window sticker has a ship date of 8/8/11.
Sticker on the truck is $49,XXX. It is pretty loaded up with max tow, 20" rims, sunroof, chrome package, lariat upgrade package, etc.
I am looking to put an offer in for it... and trade in my 2007 F-150 crew cab. My truck is worth $22,500.
X-plan on this truck is around $45,2XX.
The current rebates on the 2011's is only $2,000 (per the ford website).
What do you think I woulod be able to get this truck for?
I was hoping for my truck + $10,000 cash out the door, but am wondering if I am being realistic.
I know this is alot of what ifs.... i am just looking for your thoughts.
Thanks in advance.

Even if they gave you 22,500 for your truck I'd say impossible to walk out for 10k. That truck would sink them badly. I would ask for A-plan pricing and see where that gets you? I've seen dealers hold onto vehicles 2 MY's behind and still hold onto them after decent offers. Hell, a dealer by me still has a 2011 GT500 with a $5,000 dealer mark-up on it. I guess they forgot the new one has 112 more hp and flat out kills the 2011.
A few bread crumbs to lead you back to reality...."Out the door" includes taxes, where you live will $10,000 even cover the sales tax?

The truck isn't that old. I just bought a 2012 that was only built 8 weeks after the 2011 you found. If you start at x plan price, subtract even all the rebates that you could get on a 2012 (but remember, the 2012 would have a higher price), subtract another 3 grand for it being old (which I'd say is the upper limit) and the bottom line is that with tax you'd be stealing if you brought $18,000 cash to the party.
Yes, a new truck that is a model year or two old is harder for a dealer to sell and 95% of buyers wouldn't want it...but it only takes a few grand to make the right buyer get over the model year. Once you get the price for that loaded 2 year old Lariat down to what a basic 2013 XLT will cost, it will sell. The price you were talking about was more like a half price day old bread sale.
