Potential deal

Hey guys first post here. I was quoted an 2012 FX2 with Lux Package, sunroof, and 20 inch wheels for $33,690. Should I try to get more off or does this sound like a good deal. Another dealer quoted me a price of $2000 more for the same truck. What do you guys think?

What motor, any other adders/options, what is msrp, leather or cloth interior, Sony radio or sat nav, super crew? $33K might be pretty decent. A month ago I got my truck, 4x4 lariat luxo, and chrome package, Super crew. I hot them all the way down to $36K. However in the end, I leased it, and saved an extra $100/month.

Do your homework - what's MSRP, and what's invoice? Is that price before or after incentives? If after, what exact incentives apply? Is that price out the door?

I have found the Edmunds site to be pretty accurate. Pick your vehicle and options and see what they say the true market value is.

It's a super crew with the lux package, moonroof and 20 inch wheels. I did edmunds and they came out to about 39 and some change. I think I might do it

I bought my 2012 last December and paid less than that with the options you are describing so far.

Go for it man. It sounds like you're comfortable with the deal. I'm sure other people say they got better deals, but it's all about the rebates available in your area. Dealers here in the Pacific Northwest were doing $10K off MSRP, but a big chunk of that was rebates.

Update guys...

So I took my car in for a trade in. I owe 22k and the dealer offered me 18.5K. The toal OTD price would be $37.5 for the truck. It an FX2 with Lux package, Moonroof, 20 inch wheels. They have also agreed to throw in a spray in bed liner and tint. What do you gusy think? I am almost temted to say no because I might just wait and keep my car for a lil while and pay it off

I would NEVER roll negative equity into a new vehicle....

If you do that IMO that is poor financial management, but then again most Americans are poor at managing their finances.

I've done that in the past, and regretted it, like crazy. This time my trade was paid off, and I had a nice down payment, feels so much better.

And as a result they are poor and blame everyone else for their failure.

You never said what the MSRP is. That is the only way anyone can tell you what kind of deal you are getting.

Good point. I think I will just keep it. I bought it brand new and I will like it anyway. I can wait to get a truck

I don't think that was called for. I am not poor and I have a very good career. ....and credit. My problem is I always want a new car like every two years.

That's still not good financial management. If you want to trade every 2 years, lease your vehicles instead of directly taking a bath on resale and going upside down.
