UltraGauge?
UltraGauge?
Who has installed the UltraGauge (www.ultra-gauge.com) in their 2009-2012 trucks? What gauge readings are available for display?
I am looking at possibly getting one to display (numerically, from the OBD data stream coming from the ECU) some of the Powertrain operating parameters (namely, engine coolant temperature and battery bus voltage) that the OEM instrumentation does not provide. But I am not sure of all of the gauge readings that the F-150 ECU puts out, that the UltraGauge is said to be able to pick up and display.

I know i had 42 gaugesbon my 04 and i had all all those gauges you wanted. Love it. But i sold mine and bought the Torque Pro app on my android phine and a ebqy OBD2 bluetooth connector to replace mine to reduce gadgetsbin the truck since i dockbmybphonr in it anyways. The torque app does alot more and even data logs and doesbdiagnostic scansnas well as check engine lights. Its a fraction of the cost of an ultra-gauge
Thanks, it sounds like the Torque Pro app is better, but I'm one of the few that don't carry a smart phone, so that won't work for me.
Yep sounds like the ug is the way to go then. I loved mine man. I mounted mine in top.left of windshield and hid wire behind a-pillar plastic
Thanks Cheef!
I had found the older UG threads using Search, and saw the info about the number of gauges found on a 2005 model F-150...I was curious if that list was still good for the 2009-2012 models.

Lots available on mine, I can't count that high. I wish it had the tranny temp but it doesn't.
I really bought it for the instant MPG feature. However I am falling in love with all of the other readouts!

I understand the tranny temp is maybe one of Ford's manufacturer-specific ("secret") PIDs. I can refer to the OEM information display to get that number when I am interested in it.
I did order the UG today, without the $9 windshield mount. I plan on mounting the display on a cushioned block that will insert into a little pocket on the instrument panel that I don't use for anything...it'll then be mostly flush with the panel, out of the way, and I can hopefully tuck the OBD cable mostly out of sight, and plug it into the connector under the steering wheel column.

I ran my wire down the back of the piece of plastic that is near your knees, under the steering column and tied it back there. I am looking to make a bracket that would utilize one of the screws that go under the dash piece that covers the guages, if you look under there you will find two hex bolts.

i have an edge CTS in my 09 plat. it has tranny temp. which is nice. becuase it has to go up to about 200 before the needle moves in the analog gauge.
which has only happened once. even towing heavy. it runs about 192 or so.

That sounds about right. In these current summer temps (95*-105*) here in Alabama, the tranny temp in my 2012 XLT has been reading in the 190*-195* range so far (no towing, yet...)- that seems excessively hot to me, but that's the range of readings that others are reporting also...
