35s with 355 gears?

Will running 35s with 3.55 gear be too much of a strain for the 5.4?

Ehhh.... I did it on my '04 for like 20k miles and never had any issues..... folks will probably steer you away from it.... 4.10's would be best.

im just trying to avoid regearing.. I have 33s now but they dont fill out the fender well how i like. But did you still have plenty of power when you ran your 35s?

Did it feel like it was working harder??? Yes.

It wasn't that significant of a loss and it still had more get and up go than it did from the factory, but I was running an intake, magnaflow exhaust, and custom tune from VMP.

in my 09 fx4 its has 35's and 3.73's and i dont really care that much for it. i been thinking hard on a regear myself . seems like it would ease the strain on everything and help in mpg's

I've got 3.55s. It works. I don't drive fast at all though so really haven't notice a terrible power loss. Or it's been too long now to remember what it was like. I plan on regearing soon though

4.10's or 4.56's? Do you have anything else done to your 5.4L? Keep in mind those engines are just kind of weak. Loved mine, but they lacked in the get up and go category.

I run 35's with 3:55 gears and yes I felt the power loss and the added strain but It runs fine. A good performance exhaust intake and tune keep her having plenty of power. My research has pointed me to re-gearing with 4:10's however.
