New 2012 EB SCREW - Too
New 2012 EB SCREW - Too
I also took the plunge and got a 2012 EB. I had a 2007 5.4 and had just sucessfully changed all 8 sparkplugs with no breakage. I traded it for a 2009 Toyota Tacoma and liked it ok, except for the reduced space and the mileage was only around 18-19. So I got the itch and started shopping, I like the green gem, it reminded me of my 2004 which got wrecked by an early morning driver not paying attention - what a way to start a day.
I really had my mind set on a 5.0 but the EB caught my attention due to the twin turbos and others on here talking it up with the horsepower and torque. So far so good, it has all the power I need and so far around 19.5 mpgs. The space is awesome with the redesigned back seating area. I love the area under the seats too. So far, Ive added vent visors, Afe pro dry drop in air filter, a rubber bed mat, Delta tool box, husky mud flaps, and husky floor liners front and back - including the hump cover ( the little one likes to ride up there). I am a little concerned with some rough idle / transmission searching in the morning upon first movement, as it seems to want to surge a little, but I think it coulg be me too - not really acelerating too hard to start out. We just took a trip to Florida and back to Southern Indiana - with no issues and smoothe sailing. I am just about ready to change out the factory oil - 3K miles. So what do you think about the Green Gem??

Question: I just bought my new truck...and I am ready to do some tweakin! Any one know what the best cold air intake their is on the market? Money is not an issue.
Answer: Congrats on the new truck.
The best intake is already on the truck.
Save that money for gas or maybe another mod (floor mats, seat covers, tonneau cover, etc.).
Answer #2:
Of course that's the best answer, but I wonder if we will see another post from him in about a month, asking if we can diagnose his trouble codes or why his brand new truck is running crappy.
Afe Drop in Air Filter
Bluegreen - thanks for the response, actually I just did put the filter in and the symptoms were there before install. I was hoping for a slight difference afterwards but no real noticable change. I do understand the train of thought with the existing filter from the OEM. I do like the Afe though since it is dry and no oils are used to charge like some of the others.. I did fail to mention that I have been using high octane premium fuel and yesterday I filled with regular 87 octane I am curious to see if any difference as it seemed like the issue began after using the good stuff. Perhaps I dont need the added ocatane. I didnt think of this until reading some other posts on fuel and octane additives.. I will update in a few days if it seems to change anything.
Thanks
