low profile usb stick

was in walmart in what they call the car audio dept and came across a really neat usb stick. here is the product link.

http://www.scosche.com/car-audio/product/2315

price in walmart was $9.98. only sticks out 3/8" from the usb port and package says holds 1000 songs which sounds about right for 4gb.

Amazon has a micro Sandisk thumb drive that holds 16Gb of songs for just $7. That's what I use in my USB1 port. Works like a champ.

I've been running a couple of those for over a year with no issues. Just recently upgraded to a 32gb HP drive .. not quite as low profile, but nice to have the extra space.

Lot of counterfeit Chinese imitation sticks around. If you buy a brand name stick, find out from the manufacturer, how to identify the legit copy.

They're a bit cheaper than Amazon, currently in stock at B&H Audio/Video ($6.38 + s/H)

...it is a bit scary, how cheap & small memory / bulk storage has become these days...

Yup

When these were first listed on the forum (2010), some guys were paying around 30$ for them, maybe more.
