Back in an F150
Back in an F150
I've been out of an F150 since December and it feels good to have another. I'm usually accustomed to the lowered trucks like my old '05 STX and '99 Lightning, but this is my first 4x4. It's an '09 XLT that has been lifted a little bit. I love the stance on it and don't really plan on doing much with the exterior except replacing all of the chrome stuff with painted parts. I've never had anything this new before and I love the quality of everything and it just seems like an overall good truck. Anyway, here's a quick picture of it.
I'd replace the high brake light gasket and re-seal the Sirius antenna, if equipped.
Ford's are notorious for water intrusion problems.
Lots of guys on this forum have experienced it, and it ain't pleasant.

I believe there are TSB's out on both.
The Sirius antenna is just removed, caulked with high grade silicone caulk and replaced.
The dealer will just replace the whole high brake light assembly that comes with the new gasket.
I don't know if the gasket is available without the fixture, but a new one could easily be made from rubber.
I saw my high brake light filling with water so I spread a laundry basket of towels in my back seat just before it rained about 2".
The dealer replaced my headliner with a new one cuz I told him I didn't want my XLT smelling like wet sneakers in the summertime.
Gotta watch those guys, constantly.
