bracket rubbing on airconditioner evaporator

vehicle is a 2011 ecoboost lariat 4x4.

when poking around under the hood this morning i noticed the bracket that holds the transmission cooler is rubbing on the a/c evaporator.

when standing in front of the engine with the hood open look at the transmission cooler. thats the small one, about 4 inch by 20 inch. look at the drivers side, your right when facing it and check out the black plastic bracket. look at the back of the bracket and see if it is rubbing on the fins.

i have looked at 3 other trucks and found the same thing.

to fix i stuck a block of 3/8 inch thick rubber between the bracket and the frame of the evaporator. just enough to wedge it out and give a 1/4 inch of clearance.

i think this is factory programmed to wear thru a week and 100 miles after warranty is over.

The coil in front of the radiator is the condenser, the evap is the cold one in the dash.

yah, thats what i meant. thanks for pointing that out. beer will make one type the wrong things.

in any event, check that out. to me it looks like a problem waiting to happen. paint was gone on mine. aluminum does not take long to wear away.
