I wouldnt tow that with a non lifted f150. The trucks are rated for 11000. if the trailer itself weighs 10000 already minus gear supplies, etc...... i tow way less then that and these trucks to me are turds once you get some heavy weight behind you.

( trailer is 6000lb + the stuff )

We already have a old 2001 F150 crew 5.4L tow max towing pack( came from factory) reated at 11300lb, tow 10 to 15 time in summer for the last 10 years. So i was assuming the new 2009 5.4L 3-valve whit the 6 speed trany equiped with towing pack from Ford will handle my 10 000lb trailer. ( full of goods, water fuel and atv )

So 2009 F150 6''+ 35'' , is it possible to tow safely my trailer.

thanks.

(Go see my pic in my album )

With Max Towing Package, maybe. My 2012 Platinum 4x4 with 3.55 gears is rated at 9,700 lbs., so the Max Towing Package may get you over that 10,000 lbs hump.

^Technically the 5.4 was RATED to tow more, even though the new numbers on the new engines are probably more conservative.

But to the op, 10k is a lot for our trucks regardless of tires, but the heavier tires will put more strain on it. I tow half that towing my boat with my 2010 5.4 with max tow with 3.73's and a 6in BDS lift and 35's. I don't believe i'm close to maxing it out and its still got some pep but twice it would be a different story. Can it do it, sure, safely and should you is another question. A re-gear is definitely needed.

Betcha that trailer will put the truck over GVWR. If you want to tow over limits, that's your decision, but it's NOT smart. I also do NOT consider that "safe".

If you haven't bought the truck yet, I'd advise you to buy a 3/4 or 1 ton truck for that job. You don't need a diesel, but you need the beefed up chassis.
