Plastic tailgate handle common!!!

My new 2012 fx 150 has a plastic tailgate handle and plastic ford emblem. My previous 2011 F250 did not have this cheap ****. Just something I noticed. The 250 did have the tailgate step though. This does not. Every little cheap thing adds-up. Thoughts??? Plastic? Come-on! Unbiased opinions please. I hate the Ford blinder opinions.

Your 2011 had a plastic tail gate handle.... It was bare plastic unlike your 2012 that's painted.

The tail gate step is an option, so you can't really complain one had it and the other didn't

Trying to recall the last MY that there were not plastic handles.

Know 2 friends, both with a 2003 SuperDuty that the handles are plastic, one with a 2004 is plastic ( his previous was a '00 I cannot recall ).

Is it mid 90s when Ford still had metal door handles on the super duty ?

The emblem.. This has been plastic for some time.
Trying to recall if my '81 F100 was metal or plastic, that had metal door handles on it ( the thumb button old school ones ).
Dad's 1996 was a plastic emblem.

You realize that Ford has been using plastic tailgate handles since at least 1997 on all their trucks. I think 1996 was the last year for a metal handle.

Yeah, the death of the '92-97 body style (not the '97-eggshell) was the end of metal door or tailgate handles. Plastic all the way since then.

Every truck now a days has a plastic tailgate handle. You could opt out and get a billet one although they are really pricey.

The F250 has a plastic tailgate handle as well... Was it just painted and that's why you thought it was metal?

Why does it need to be metal? I'll never understand the mentality of plastic is bad. Plastics today aren't like the pop plastic of the 50s. I mean come on modern polymers are used in firearm construction with amazing results. I'm sure the tailgate handle can withstand it's intended use.

You 2011 had a plastic handle too. If you cant tell the difference between plastic and metal then you dont have the mental capacity to be criticizing Ford and their products
