You must be talking about travel link???
If so, never used it and I wouldn't pay for it either. Or Sirius radio.
My Sync does and always has worked well. Original '10 version, no upgrades.
But I have an Android. I switched from a RIM job (BlackBerry)

And Sync does not require a yearly fee...just the Travel Link as High-ster mentioned.

Sirius
Not to hijack this thread but the only way I'd subscribe to SIRIUS is if they'll sell me a life time subscription for $300.00 as they did for my 2008 Mustang.
My price goes DOWN every day. I stream music of my choice over my phone and that isn't going to change. Sirius, get serious, and lower your prices. My next offer will be $200.00 for lifetime. Going once, twice.... ?

Sync is great. I have 3 different Flash drives with different catagories of music. I rarely listen to the FM radio.
If you don't mind listening to commercials and DJ's then Sirius may not be for you. I have found Sirius to be best enjoyed for those that like a lot of un-interrupted music. It's great to travel across the country and be able to listen to the same station and type of music without having to search every time you get out of range of a particular transmitter.

Sync is cool and I have an iphone with really no issues. Sometimes like twice in the last 6 months I will lose the connection. As far as sattelite radio Im not going to pay for the radio. I found that a lot of the stations I dont like and there still are commericials. Now if I was driver by profession than maybe. With pandora, ipod etc, to much other things out there.

Sync works great with my iPhone, and always has, in every vehicle I have it in. I also only use my phone as a phone in my car, not as then .mp3 player or anything else while I am driving .. I do use it to play games when I am sitting in a parking lot waiting on the wife or kids, and have the app sound through bluetooth is cool ..
I will never own another vehicle without Sirius in it. The life time radio thing is great, until the radio breaks, or gets stolen, or the vehicle gets totalled..
I also find the travel link very useful .. the real time traffic helps greatly with my daily commute

You're probably connected to Bluetooth but the truck isn't on "Bluetooth Audio". I have run into the same thing when trying to use Google Navigation. If the phone is connected to the truck, it's going to route audio to the truck whether or not the truck is in the right mode to play it. Press the Sync button and say "Bluetooth Audio".
