fixes for zoom feature

My backup camera has the zoom feature but doesn't seem to be working. Search showed several other have this problem. My question is this, do I need to return to the dealer or is it a simple menu setting? Owners manual doesn't mention zoom, or at least I have not found it. Truck is a 2012 lariat. If this has been asked/answered, I humbly apologize in advance.

While we are on the topic of the rear view camera... Does anyone have a crooked camera? I'll take a picture of it but it's not perfectly level.

Zoom is working fine on my Reg Cab XLT. There is a menu that you bring up and you have a choice of Reg - 1X, 2X or 3X and when in the Zoom modes you see a dashed line down the center of the image that give you something to lineup on if trying to backup to attach a trailer.

This, but mine resets itself ever 5 or 6 starts. I've given up on it and every time i tell the dealer about the problem i get the "o well you go here and just turn it on"

I know that its been a while since this thread has been active. Just bought a used 2012 XLT with the same issue. Has anyone found a solution?

Do you have any problems with any of the other camera settings? For instance, can you change the guideline display from on to off? Can you adjust the contrast and brightness? If you are having any of those problems, or with the zoom, then it needs to go to the dealer to have the software checked. It may have a problem. If the dealer is not willing to check it, find a different dealer. This is a known problem. My camera was acting up. I have an '11 Lariat with the Nav. system. The guidelines disappeared and I couldn't make some adjustments. Took it to the dealer and they did an update. Worked for a day then had to take it back. Ended up having the camera replaced with an updated version, then the software updated afterwards. So yea, it needs to go to the dealer.......

Wow, I just learned something new today! I never knew my "new" '11 has a zoom feature for the backup camera, but sure enough, it's right there on page 38 of the owner's manual...
