Decided on a new truck

Going with a 2012 dark blue 4x4 crew xlt with convenience, chrome, xlt plus and tow, and off road package. MSRP $42545 Brake controller and sat radio for $31495. I am getting excited. That price seems pretty good. A lot of rebates

That's the same price I paid for my FX4 w/luxury package. Isn't that a little steep for an XLT?

Not around here. I have haggled with a handful of dealers and all are around 8k to 10k off MSRP. If you lived in 4x4 country and paid less than that then I say you got a pretty good deal.

Congrats Benzo! I got a similar truck and my deal worked out about the same (but i am thinking you did better). $41,860 sticker, (now its 42,430). Got them to 38,319 (invoice was 38,506). Then took 4,500 in rebates and 750 in private cash. Which was 33,069 then after trade and TTL it was 32k out the door. I say you got a great deal.

I couldnt touch an FX4 with luxury package for anywhere near that....

Yeah. I live in Houston so it's a little harder to sell 4x4 trucks. Also I bought it on a year end sale about the same time the 2011 models were hitting the lots.

I use www.carsabi.com to search for cars. You can get the local deales offers and some nice statistics for the cars. Is a great search engine for new and used cars.

Congrats for your purchase.

Well I went in and signed for it today. 11k off MSRP. I am pretty happy with the deal. I could not find a used one for that price around here. So of course I have to wait 2 days to get because they had to do a dealer trade
