Exclamation Need a new windshield!

A small pebble found it's way to my windshield on my 1 week old truck and it cracked! I've heard worse impacts on my windshields and had less damage than what I've got! Needless to say I need a new windshield. I'm a bit gun-shy going back to OEM glass and am leaning towards aftermarket glass- maybe PGW or Guardian. Any other recommendations would be appreciated! Thanks.

I guess I'm the only one on this site that has had to replace a windshield so I'll at least update my thread.

I've read enough bad reviews on Safelite and the cheap glass they use (XYG Glass) so I decided to replace the OEM windshield with one from PGW (with the green solar contrast and 'third visor') and have to say the PGW glass is pretty darn sweet! I hope it holds up much better than the POS windshield my truck came with! Also, I opted to save $80 and went without the logo and paid $220 installed (without help from my insurance). If you're in the san antonio area feel fee to PM me and I'll let you know the company I went with.

I was going to say to stay away from Safelite. Me personally, I would have had it replaced with an OEM windshield. I too have been hit with a rock, but luckily I was able to fill the chip.

I tried to have it repaired but the stress cracks from the chip were too long (with one reaching the edge of the windshield). I really wanted to stay with OEM glass (Carlite) but couldn't force myself to pay the extra $$$ for a windshield that cratered with such a small impact (I barely even heard the hit). Maybe mine was defective or from a bad batch??

I'm glad I didn't as I'm very happy with the new windshield. It doesn't have the logo, but does have area where the logo would be blacked out.
