Am I the only one who hauls a camper and wheeler ?
I have been looking around this site and it seems like no one pulls a camper with a four wheeler in the bed. Just curious if that is weird or what? All my life that is how everyone around here goes camping. No campsites with plug in and water. We camp in the middle of the woods, no power, water, ect. Anyways I know that it puts you close to your payload max but there really is no other way around it unless you make two trips. But I was curious if anyone else does this? Feel free to post some pics! Im waiting on my EB screw so I won't be able to post pics for a while! Thanks everyone!
We do it regularly with F250's. It is too much for a F150 if you care about overloading the tires etc. My FX4 has a 1,200 lb door sticker. That is just enough for trailer TW, gas, food and family. Plus the bed is too short to load and close. The F250 bed is 6ft 8in. That is just enough for me to close the gate with my Kawi BF750. 850lb ATV, 4,500lb race car trailer and 3k lb race car.

Yeah my wheeler doesn't weigh that much.. Not a real big camper..But I am close to my max, don't think I'm over but if I go to a bigger camper I will be going over. So I think I'll be useing this set up for awhile!
If your camper puts you close to your max, then it's big relative to the truck and you definitely should not be attempting to put a 4 wheeler in the bed.
edit: if you haven't even bought the truck yet, go ahead and buy a gas 3/4 ton. price should be close to the 1/2 ton and you get the payload and truck size to haul the weight you are wanting. The last thing i want to do is tow a load right at the max tow rating for the truck, especially when i know what i'll be towing before buying the truck.

Used the tow haul mode last week, 500 mile round trip to Fort Kent, ME. 1500Lbs. and a big slush shield. 4X4 3.7 V6. 15 MPG (normaly 21). Speed limit 75 on interstate up north, I did 65 70 no problem. Rt.11 2lane that goes up and down, never flat for over 100 miles. I learned to hit the switch and turn off before hitting the brakes going downhill. If you don't it revs to 7000 RPM. Lots of noise! Happy with towing performance and gas mileage. Have 20000 miles in 9 months. Don't bother with the tow haul mode when I load the 4 wheeler(700 Lbs.) in back.

The campers tounge weight is around 750-800 and wheeler is about 550 we don't put any gear or anything in the cab, just my wife and I 270lb. I think we should be fine. Not too worried about it. I used to pull all this with a half ton Chevy 4.8l lifted. Pulled it good just no power!

Dont waste your money on the 3/4 ton unless its a diesel, and if you buy a diesel you better need it because its going to cost you.
I saw no where, where he had the HD package. so his payload is 2k not 2800.
Also, i saw no where on fords build page that allows you to have a screw eb w/ the HD package. Only saw it available for the supercab. so going to the superduty would make sense since he can't get the truck he'd want w/ the HD package.
numbers written on paper aren't the only things to take into consideration either.

I agree with you on the rest though...
