Wax new truck
wax it any time. Factory assembly line paint is baked at way higher temps because nothing has been installed. Aftermarket paint can't be baked as high because of all the rubber compnents, etc. and usually has to wait 30 days.
Wax or seal it. It's fine.
Baking the paint helps during degassing but it certainly doesn't do the job that time does. Baking does help immensely with paint not being soft. The waiting period prior to waxing a vehicle is a old 'rule' that hasn't gone away although it should. Outgas is why you didn't want to wax a vehicle. Paints on the market today outgas very quickly and have no problems with it. Using a carnuba wax on fresh aftermarket paint or paint that is a few weeks old is no problem. Carnuba is porous so there is no issue. Sealants are a little different but like I said degassing is done very quickly with the paints on the market now.

not waxing only applies to body shops and repair. And yes wax is still important for whoever said it wasnt.

its very important. i guess it would depend on when the parts are painted in the assembly process. general rule is 90 days from a body shop that lets paint air dry, and 30 days if it is baked. if the parts are painted before the assembly process you should be good to go when you get it, since the assembly process is approximately 6 weeks.
It's amazing how misinformation can be spread but thank you... We aren't using single stage paints from the 60s... Not to mention carnuba waxes are porous!
Well guys my truck came Friday and it looks great in the light, BUT when I got it in the shop under those florescent lights it was fine scratches on the left side of the bed and a few on the door, Damn I was mad after waiting that long for it. I ordered this truck and it never set on the lot. I took some Meguiar's 2.0 and with a little work they came almost out, I did not know if it would be OK to do it so soon. The truck was built on 3/12 but with a new truck and scratches I could not stand it.. Is this normal on a brand new truck??

Waxing is always a good idea. Two times a year is best and use a good was such as Zymol, which does a very good job of cleaning up swirl marks and has limited dusting. Zymol also makes a detailing spray you can use throughout the year after washes.
Yes they did, but they should be smart enough not to screw up a 50k truck. What is the best thing to use to fix this issue?
