well, to make a long story short, wind opens doors much too fast, especially when your not ready for it! now i have a broken part i don't know the name of on my pickup...... its in between the two hinges on the front drivers door, it stops the door in 3 different places. it makes a loud pop sound when opening and closing the door. so my name ideas so far are: door stop? door check? any one know a part number?

Mine did the same thing (West Texas winds). Have you tried tightening those 2 nuts up? It worked for me.

And I tried everything to get rid of the pop, the plastic that was coated around the metal arm is what is popping. It looks like it acts as a bushing, but it cracked and some of it is missing(where you can see bare metal). Cold weather is no good on it with impacts I guess. I did find the whole assembly for $25 shipped, hope its not too hard to put in!
