New EB Screw

Got this about 10 days ago, but took me a while to post pics ----

2012 Ecoboost 2wd XLT . Candy Red Metallic paint ---- i originally wanted black, but seeing a couple of these tooling around town won me over --- i love this color

Truck is whisper quiet and rides like a dream -- i like it .
I am a catastrophe insurance adjuster, so its primary purpose will be hauling me and my gear all over the country -- i didnt need deep rear end gears and didnt really need 4wd (have a little Wrangler thats barely visible in the photos for the 3 days a year it snows bad enough to be a problem aorund my place)
I didnt really need some of the chrome, but it was on the truck, and it seems to complement a flashy color pretty well

So far, so good , -- i have driven it enough to realize that the EB does not get the marketed gas mileage (22mpg highway) unless its driven below the speed limit but everything else is so far so good

Congrats, during the summer I was able to get 21.8 mpg on a trip. I just took another trip more weight in the bed 600-800lbs and 4 people temps started at 60* avaraged 19.4 mpg at sea level, destination 27* 3400ft above sea level we avaraged 16.8 mpg most of the way but arrived at 17.1 mpg. I take this trip a few times a year (367 miles one way) and always took it with my 2005 F150 5.4 and the best freeway miles were 14.2 mpg and it took more then a tank. This time we never fueled up and made it there with 180 to empty. The Mpg will get better when we get ride of this winter gas also.

Very nice. Have fun with it. That candy red really does pop in the sunlight.

New Screw

I too recently received my 2012 Screw w/ EcoBoost after ordering it in December '11. I only have around 500 miles on it after taking delivery on 2/20/12 so I'm still in the break-in phase and changing speed every few miles, but I am getting much better MPG then my '08 F150 with the flex fuel 5.4L.

I have only filled it once and that was with 93 octane and have so far averaged 17 or better mixed about 60% highway/40% city. The 93 octane had 10% ethanol in it but my next fill with be 87 octane pure gas so I'll see how much it drops.

You mean how much your mpg will raise.

ethanol hurts mpg, and unless your towing the 93 octane does nothing worth the added cost
