Rattle and leak

I have a 2010 F150 SCREW Lariat 4x4. Shortly after getting the truck from the dealer I noticed a rattle coming from the back window. It would happen after I hit a bump. I'd hit the bump and the rattle would roll for half a second and then go silent. It wouldn't do it all the time...some days it was silent...others it was impossible to miss.

I brought it in to the dealer and after playing the old "we can't duplicate the problem" game I told them to keep it...don't give it back to me until you've diagnosed it. After trying a few times they found the problem. The service guy told me that Ford didn't want to replace the glass because it's an expensive process...they wanted to try to lubricate it first. OK. They squirted something in there and it quieted down.

Fast forward another year and a half. The rattle is back...and it's leaking water into the cab. I take it back, explain the problem, and we play the "we can't duplicate the problem" game again. After two trips in a week they still can't find the problem. I drove 3 hours the next day to go hunting and it rattled the whole way.

One day that week after work it was really rattling loud and I drove by the dealer and had someone ride with me...they heard it and said they'd fix it.

They sealed the back glass with silicone and gave it back to me. I drove to work with no squeak...but it was still leaking...worse than before.

I brought it in again and they sealed the sattelite antenna and the third brake light and gave it back. It was still leaking.

I brought it in again and they redid some of the sealing and gave it back...and it was still leaking.

Finally, after two years, lots of frustration they decided to change the back glass.
They give me a rental car...yeah...a car...that won't pull my boat or allow me to go hunting...but that's another story.

So they keep the truck over the weekend and they are going to get the job done in no time. I dont' hear anything from them by Wednesday and I'm going to be out of town on business so it's not too big a deal...I figure they ordered the glass and were just waiting for it to get it. I call them the next saturday and they tell me it's not ready. Hmmm.

I get back in town and call them on Monday and my service advisor is out sick. They go to check on it but leave me on hold so long that I have to hang up. They call back later and tell me "sorry...we dropped the ball...we've had the glass here for a week but someone forgot to schedule the repair." They'd had my truck for over a week and haven't even touched it. I was shocked at the level of incompetence.

I finally got my truck back...and they didn't clean the headliner...it's stained...and it has to go back in to get cleaned.

I just had to vent. It sucks when the closest dealer to you is incompetent.

Hope it's all fixed up now!
Sounds like you need to look around for another dealer. I would send a copy to your post to Ford Customer service, right after i call them and give them an ear full. They may not do anything for you but they certainly keep record of your complaint. (Yes. it does matter!).
I'd even tell them, after all you had to go through and put up with, nobody offered a discount on extended warranty...not even a oil change....
