umm nope unless its really cheap. However you cut it that engine is half in the bag. And all the fun issues are about to come up on it. I mean if I could get it at give away price maybe. But paying 20k or something heck no

The engine should be good to go for another 100k+, the rest of the truck is probably going to nickel and dime you to death in another couple years. As far as the price 29k is pretty high, I paid 36k for a loaded 2011 FX4 new. Expecting to get it for super cheap is probably out of the question too, I traded in my 2007 FX4 for $18500 with 80k on the clock. F150s hold their value pretty good, even with some miles on them.

probably could get kbb trade in value or a tad bit under private party blue book. As it gets older the miles will be less noticeable to a buyer.

Agreed I paid 32k with rebates for a 2011 almost fully equipped xlt. yeah it might have another 100k left in but might have only 20-40k left until major work is needed. 10k or under I would buy it and drive it till it dies.

holy crap! 90k on a 2 year old truck! thats 45k a year! most people i know that rack up super high miles like that usually let the servicing go all to he11 too because they know they are going to trade it. It was probably used for business commuting and was probably not treated very well. most people will be more tempted to abuse a vehicle if they know they will trade it in a couple of years. id run far away from that one. if it was a few years older, the price was right, and it appeared to have been well cared for, then id buy it. not for 29k tho, that is flat ridiculous.

Where is this $10k number coming from? I know this is the current body style forum, but wow are you guys mileage snobs.
You want an 09+ body style your looking at $12k for a regular cab, 2wd xl with 78k miles. (I checked autotrader)

You want a truck under $10k you can find a 04-08 body x cab 2wd with 130k miles In that range. Worried about mileage? I found a 2004 xlt with 230k miles on the original engine, he still wanted $9k for it. There are plenty of 09+ trucks out there with over 100k going for over 20k.

I agree the one your looking at is a bad idea but don't let someone convince you that you can get a truck for next to nothing because it has high miles. Go look at the diesels and then you'll see how high miles can really get on a newer truck. I know these are gas, but it's usually the rest of the truck that wears out before the engine on either. Just be aware your engine may last 200k but you'll have plenty of $100-$500 repair bills thrown at you before you reach that point. So save money now or save money later, your call.

I HIGHLY doubt these guys could get a 09+ king ranch for $10k. It would have to be a totally clueless seller that inherited/won/didn't pay in full for the truck type of deal to pull that off. Usually the king ranch name alone will help retain the value.

Thats not that uncommon for miles. I mean i dont know how many construction workers i work with drive 40xxx miles a year. a foreman i help sometimes bought a 2010 at the beginning of 2011 and he at 80xxx. Its just highway miles driving to and from jobs and he has an hour and half commute to most jobs. However ,theres no way id pay 29k for a truck with that many miles....id rather have a less optioned NEW truck for that price with a warranty for a few years
