i signed no paperwork at all and talked to the salesman i was working with via phone and email.. told him i wanted a refund and he said ok.. its now wednesday and i have emailed him the past few days with no response email or call.. dont they have to give me my deposit back since i signed no paperwork and was never told it was non refundable?

i never signed any paperwork or anything.. and yeah they had to get it from another dealer
yeah dealer told me i needed to put down a deposit for the truck since they had to go get it.. my bank statement has the 1,000 to them so im not in a worry that theyll say i didnt give the deposit just curious if i have anything to worry about.. dont think so mainly since i didnt sign any paperwork
yeah its good that you've got paperwork, and that you didn't pay that money as a transfer fee. The only thing i would say would be head over to the dealer and get it sorted in person as thats easier that a feed of bunch of emails.
i DONT have paperwork i put down a deposit for them to get the truck in.. then i was going to do all the paperwork when i bought the truck.. and im about 500 miles away from home or i would

OMG - I got my '09 F150 the exact same way. I actually put $3500 down on a Titan but their finance guy went home early to go to his daughter's recital. I gave them the check, signed nothing and drove the Titan over one last time to the Ford dealership to make myself feel better about my "purchase". But even though it was after hours, my salesman saw me and stopped me. All a sudden he was able to move more on his truck (probably since he knew I clearly was buying something else) and I ended up changing my mind.
Nissan said they'd give me my check back. But they deposited it 5 days later anyhow. They tried to financially squeeze my ability to be able to purchase the Ford. Luckily, I wasn't hurting for the money but I was sure pissed they didn't just hand over the check when I returned their check since they hadn't taken it to the bank at that time. To this day I warn every person I know about that dealer and try hard to direct them to a Ford instead. If I were a salesman, I personally am responsible for selling two trucks identical to my FX2 now to both of my next door neighbors.
Cliff Notes: Get down there, ask for the owner, tell them you signed nothing and want your check pulled right this moment.

Just saw this - put a cancel on the check. It'll cost you $35 but you'll have peace of mind. Otherwise you're going to be waiting 4-6 weeks for them to cut you a check if you do it all over the phone. They aren't going to bust their butt to get you a refund when they know they aren't going to get your business.
You should be getting your deposit back, since nothing was signed.
Would not be surprised if they keep 100$ to cover there costs. That includes fuel and paying a guy to go pick it up. If there was no vehicle the other dealer wanted, 2 guys would have to go. Personally, i don't see why the dealer should eat the cost. Besides that, he now has a Truck with some mileage on it, which may or may not be a reason why the next potential customer would insist on a discount.

Mmm. No paperwork, eh? Did you at least receive a receipt?
I know this is after the fact for you, but I never give any company any deposit without some sort of paper trail that can be used to recover the monies.
But at least it was in the form of a check and not cash...
