That is NOT supposed to be normal - you need to find a good dealer who is willing to work with you to find out why.

I drove from Little Rock, AR to Saint Louis, MO this weekend and knocked off 19.3MPG on winter blend E10. I was gettign 19.5 MPG for a while then I speed up and it dropped a little bit. This was going up HWY 67 so from the Missouri border to STL was all up and down hills. Per the gauge on the dash most were 8* and a few were up to 12*. The EB held 6th gear up all of them. It was strange watching the truck downshift going down the hill not up. I did a little bit of driving around STL and kept my speed 7-10 over what was posted so 70 limit was about 77, 65 limit was 72. I'm sure if I would have kept the CC set a little lower I would have gotten right at 20MPG. This was with three guys and gear in the truck which is a Platinum 4x4 with 3.55s. I crossed over 24,000 on the way back so mine should be as broke it as it will get. These trucks can get really good mileage if you let them. Keep the display on the Fuel Economy tab and watch the instant readout. Learn how to keep the meter up high until you get the feel for it.

Latest update: Well, right after my initial post, believe it or not, when I hit 1,023 miles my fuel mileage went from low 14's to high 14's, consistently. I recently changed the oil (call me crazy but I changed it at 1,500 mi, I like to know what's in my truck) and now I'm running about 15.6 all in town driving. So, I don't know if it's just breaking in? Different oil? Who knows? Anyway, I started around 12 miles/gal when I first drove it off the lot, now at high 15's. As soon as I get it out on the freeway for a tour I'll update again. Still, great truck, plenty of power, lots of 'git up and go'.

I took a 300 mile trip a month ago, managed 19.8 mpg. I got 20 on the first 150 miles, which I was very pleased with, considering winter gas and temps in the 20's. Almost all highway with a good portion of it at 70 mph.

ON the mileage issue I wonder if sometimes we could add a factor to the mix that would maybe give a better picture of the driving habit/traffic situtions that produce our milage..
example is we all talk about mpg and generic description hwy or city... I suspect some folks definition of city is a tad different than others. In my morning commute on in the Dallas/Fort Worth "Metromess", hwy is bad.. back roads flow better but have lights, some close and some spread out. So in the interest of leveling the field I submit my latest numbers.. on my 2011 Eco SCREW w/3.15 rear and 18" factory wheels 9500 on the odo. I think the average mph helps give a better picture of overall driving style/situation along with the rest of the numbers...did not try and hypermile but also did not smoke the wheels with jackrabbit starts and hard braking...much
time driven 12.hrs17min
gal used 20.03
miles 363.4
average speed= 29.54 mph
dash calc= 17.8 mpg
What do ya'' think?
