Vent Visors...
Looking at buying a set of Vent Visors for my crew cab, just wondering what people prefer, in-channel or stick-on?
I am thinking of just buying a set of Ford stick ons...
Also should I paint them to match or just leave them black? Does anyone have a picture of a white F-150 with colour matched Vent Visors?

Just about any 2011+ F150 will have issues with the in-channel variety. I had planned to go with them, but after some research, it's the stick on variety for me.
Both of the main issue have already been mentioned.....the "auto" feature on the windows will cause problems....when the window(s) meet the resistance of the in-channel vent visor, the window will roll back down. Also, over a short period of time, the upper 1/2" of the window(s) will become seriously scratched up....especially if you live in a dusty/windy area.

I had stickons on every vehicle i had over the last 15 years and am doing the same on my new truck. It is very important to clean the area with the little alcohol wipe that comes in the box. Let it dry and i use masking tape as a guide. Only have one shot at it.!
I do not let the dealer install them for me. Seems as every time they have the kid at the dealership, that washes the cars, stick them on, they eventually come loose. Maybe he don't use the wipes or maybe he does not let it dry....I get better results doing it myself.

My pal has had AVS stick-ons for 11 years with no problems. He has one that shades the rear window also, with no problems.
I've had them for 25 months with no problems, too. I use auto-washes all the time, also.
Applied by the shop that tinted my windows with lifetime warranty.
If I had bought the in-channel, the shop wanted me to sign a waiver releasing them from any repair to the window motor.

In-channel for the last 3+ months with no issues on my 2011 SCAB. They did take a few days to settle in (the auto windows kicked back), but there is a little trick to get them up tight so the vent visor will seat.
Also, my vent visors came with inserts to open the window channel a little extra. I used them for the first couple days and then pulled them out. No issues to speak of now.
I think the inchannel look much better than the outside... IMO
