Can I remove this?

On the front end of my 2010 there is a valance(plastic). It is visible below the bumper. I know I can take it off but what is it for? Anyone take it off and have input?

My guess is just to clean everything up. Thought about taking it off but also thought to myself that it probably helps with aerodynamics. If Ford put it there, it's probably there for a reason IMO

Go for it. I removed mine within the first week of getting my truck. No change in fuel economy. The truck definately looks better without it.

If you are referring to the one below the bumper and back a little ways, it is to move dirty air around the underside. It helps quiet and keep disturbed air from the underside. I'm keeping mine.............

If you are talking about the black plastic lip under the radiator support it can be removed. I believe the owners manual even shows how if you plan to do heavy off roading. It is there for aerodynamic reasons. The loss will be small but there. As one designer put it, "It is very difficult to find one way to add 1MPG but it is easy to find 10 ways to add .1MPG." At highway speeds this piece cleans up the airflow under the truck, think of it like a chin splitter of sorts.

On the EcoBoost, doesnt that piece have a cooling effect on it vs the 5.0L??? Anyone know for sure??? I am thinking I heard someone say on here that it serves a purpose on the EB.

Just did this. Think there will be any problems with more mud/dirt/rocks splashing back up into the ball joints/radiator? Just thinking aloud here.
