Finally got my 5.4 tuned by 5star!
Another cool but otherwise useless side effect about Mike's tunes. I have a SIDO Flowmaster Super 44 exhaust. When coming to a stop you can actually hear the transmission down shifting. I get a few looks when that happens! Put it into Tow / Haul mode and it is even more pronounced.
Talked to 5 star tuning the other day regarding my 91 octane tune. I told mike there wasn't a huge difference between 87 and 91 and he told me log some miles so the adaptive strategy could work it's magic. Almost a week later and all I ca n say is wow! This 5.4 is very entertaining now!
got my trucked tuned way better trans shifts are where they shoud be its still no rocket but is is a bis *** truck if i wanna go fast i drive my cobra
mike is great guy to deal with no screwing around gets you your probrammer and your tunes quick.

did the 87econo/87 perform and 91 perform im running the 87 perform my tranny has been crap since the day i bought my truck had it to ford 4 times for reflashes mike seen to fix it on the first try
I ran the 91 performance for a few hundred miles and wow did it ever come alive. The 87 was fantastic, the 91 at first a tad better but it just kept getting better and better as the miles accumulated. Now I am considering having a 93 or 94 perf/tow made for this thing. I might even consider the AFE intake that 5star offers.
I rode the 91 economy for a few miles and it's pretty nice too. Best way to describe it is "relaxing".
I've switched back to 87 perf/tow as I am taking a really long trip and want to be able to fill up wherever I want without searching for a specific octane. The 87 was great first time around and I'm sure it will be more than ample for this highway trip.
I should be able to get a good handle on any fuel economy gains as well, going to keep a tight hand written log.
