Does anyone have any information on what the material hold is on the 2012 FX4's with the appearnace package?

My order went in on 12/23, and as of 01/20 I am still on a material hold without a VIN# or a build date.

I orders an FX4 Supercrew, Ecoboost, with the appearance pkg, leather pkg, and nav radio. I think it's the wheels causing the holdups, but I am looking to understand specifically what it is and what to do about it. Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated.

I tried to build and order a black FX4 with the Appearance Package two weeks ago. The hold-up seemed to be the tires, not the wheels. We could select the Appearance Package, but when we selected the rubber, it bounce us out. I'm betting the tires for the Appearance is changing to include blackwalls. It only makes sense. Ford wouldn't turn white letters in, and I don't think the Scorpions come in blackwall, so it looks like an entirely different tire will be needed.

 

They are making those now, at least in Dearborn. Just a guess, but they may not be able to keep up, they look good. Nice choice.
