New to the forums, 2012 SCrew XLT ordered
Hey everybody, I just joined the forum (have been on FTE for a while). I've been slowly restoring an '81 F150 Explorer and just factory-ordered my dream truck a week ago. Can't believe it's actually happening
I'm going from a base 2009 Corolla to this:
(from my post on FTE)
2012 F150 SuperCrew XLT, Pale Adobe Metallic/Pale Adobe interior
5.0L, 4x4, 6.5' box
HD payload package
Towing package
XLT Convenience Package
Trailer brake controller/fog lights
Remote start
Premium sound w/6CD
Trailer tow mirrors
Power sliding rear window w/defrost (incl. illuminated visors)
Rear view camera
It will definitely be a rare truck in this area. I've never seen an HD payload package truck in person, and the Pale Adobe colour is not common either. I was originally keen on the two-tone dark grey but absolutely loved the Pale Adobe interior in one of the trucks I test-drove. The dealer says late March delivery, just in time for spring. I'm thinking spray-on bedliner, intake/exhaust and tune not long after

Hi, and Welcome to f150online.
Drop in at the tracking forum. Maybe somebody will help you out there.

Considering how quickly I feel in love with that engine when I test-drove one, I think I will enjoy it thoroughly
Hopefully enough to offset the considerable increase in fuel consumption over the Corolla!
I've never really been one for pie-in-the-sky longings that will not be realistically satisfied. It took me 5 minutes to realize I wanted one of the new F150s after beginning the (first) test-drive, as they have finally combined highly satisfying (to me) driving performance with the ruggedness and towing/hauling ability expected of a truck. The previous (4.6/5.4 and earlier) generations never wooed me like the Coyote/EcoBoost trucks.

Update: truck is built and waiting in a compound up the road from Kansas City Assembly. I'm hoping it will make it here before the end of the month, as the February incentive here in Ontario is now $7500 cash allowance (same as in January) plus $1000 towards dealer accessories. I'm hoping they will include Line-X and skid plates under that. Might throw tubular running boards on it if they have a decent dealer-option step that is better than the ones everyone complains about (too tight to rocker).
My other dilemma is whether or not I actually want to part with my Corolla. It's a 2009 with 92k, bought new in September '08. The cost of keeping it on the road alongside the F150 would negate any fuel savings, but I do like the idea of having a little 4-banger car around when the truck isn't required. Aside from a water pump around 60k and a bit of valvetrain noise when cold, that car has been solid.

So according to Ford (thanks to SETCHAN!), my truck has waiting for a couple days in the automotive compound by the big Toronto railyard only an hour from here. A faulty railcar held it up for a few days last week, but I'm hoping it will be here today or sometime this week. I'm going to stop by the dealership after work (only 5min from our office) and see if there's a surprise waiting!
Congrats on the new truck! And I agree with you wholeheartedly, the tan interior is infinitely better than the flat gray IMO. When you get the new truck please post some pics, I am very interested to see the HD package.
