Spied! 2013 Lightning Mule

Is the Lightning making a comeback?

From pickuptrucks.com:

We just received these from Glenn Paulina, who says one of his guys caught an odd-looking Ford F-150 FX2 running around the streets of Michigan. Here's what he said...

This is kind of comical. It's possible but you aren't going to see that vehicle running around like that... Don't you think it's more likely to be Roush testing a catback exhaust system?

So a FX2 with tow mirrors, dual-exhaust, and a 6.5" bed makes a new lightning? I don't think so....

It could be a mule for something. A test mule isn't supposed to look like the final product or anything special. It's supposed to be under disguess with experimental or prototype components for testing. The first 09 mules also looked like crap if you remember this......

I see nothing that looks like it could be a lightning... plus tow mirrors don't seem like the mod to have on a lightning....

And the exhaust tips are not even

It would not be a mod to have on a lightning but it would be good for a mule and you're trying to hide what it is. Also it could just be a powertrain mule or exhaust mule. You don't want the final product out in the open for testing. Look at the 09 mule. They were still using 08 parts!

A mule is meant to cover up whats underneath. Ignore the body and the tow mirrors etc... What matters is underneath. Its a donor body and its not meant to draw attention.

Thats why manufactures use mules because it does not attract attention.
