Can you add Sony screen to Lariat?

Been looking around at this for my dad.. I realize it is probably a whole new dash piece.. Anyone done this? Is it even possible?

09-10 f150 is the generation 2 Nav units which can be found for $500-$700 refurbed or $1600 new from dealer.....

The 11-12 f150 is the generation 3 Nav units....which I haven't seen any used ones out there yet but brand new from the dealer will set you back $3000-$4000

I'm guessing if you get the 2 nav unit it will include the dash pieces? How do you search for that? Just like 2009 F150 gen 2 nav?

It can be done, would take EXTENSIVE rewiring under the dash. Based on the way the temperature controls are configured.

Found this, would make an aftermarket work, would get a steering wheel control kit, and is there a way to make the camera in the rear view mirror to connect, or is it not an RCA camera?

you're gonna want this one http://www.amazon.com/Scosche-010FD1.../dp/B001UCB4R0 and then you can get it hydro dipped to match your dash

here's some links for the harnesses you'll need

axxis xsvi-5520-nav harnesshttp://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0025UDZDM
antenna adapterhttp://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002BEQNE
aswc steering wheel controlshttp://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004HM86D0

what's cool about the xsvi harnes is that it is already pre wired to plug directly into the aswc steering wheel controls

as far as the rear view mirror monitor feed...i'm sure you could splice into it and feed it into the aftermarket as well...would just need to find which wire it is

Is that what would allow Sync to still work?

Why do I need a Navigation harness?

Looking at http://www.crutchfield.com/p_158XNV7...XNV-770BT.html

you don't necessarily need a navigation harness but it makes it VERY easy to wire up without cutting any additional wires. The harness already includes wires for parking brake and reverse sensor and gives you the power you will need.

I don't have any experience with Sony. Always been a Pioneer in my trucks.
