auto-dimming mirrors, over-ridable ???
auto-dimming mirrors, over-ridable ???
2011 XLT.
I am curious if anyone knows how to over-ride the auto-dim feature so that they just act like normal mirrors (rearview and drivers side).
I find the dimming feature quite annoying and even dangerous as I often feel like I cannot see adequately in them in the dark.
Also, I know there is one sensor of the back (window side) of the rearview, but is there another sensor somewhere ???
Thanks for any help.

Subscribing- it happens to me when I back out of the garage. My windows are tinted, so I need to roll down the window so I don't rip the mirror off.
Put electrical tape over the sensor that is underneath the rearview mirror. That sensor controls both the rearview, and driver mirror. If it never detects light coming into that sensor, it will never dim.
