Looks like I will be removing it this weekend. I cant see how it will effect the MPG that much. Either way, I saw 21 MPG on the way in to work. Huge grin! My 04 5.4 would not be able to do that idleing going down a mountain.

I have not climbed underneath yet, but for those who have removed it, are they bolts or just plastic anchors? Other than that, it seems pretty straight forward.

Its held on by bolts, well on my '10 it was anyway. Before I lifted the truck, removing the piece made a world of difference in aesthetics.

Yep...just read the owners manual that it is held on by 2 bolts.

Two studs on the frame with a lock nut on it that you'll need a 16mm long socket. I just removed mine this morning, took 5 minutes between taking it off and putting it up in the attic.

It's as simple as operating a ratchet. I took it one step further and used an air ratchet.

Mine has been off since February. put a front hitch on & it had to go. A/C works great & no change in MPGs

I haven't noticed one difference in the A/C performance and it was pretty hot today. No change in mileage but obviously haven't driven but a hundred miles.

mines lowered..i have no intention of removing it...it's slowly getting filed down
