Anybody with the new non-oil Airaid filter?

It seems Airaid now has the non-oiled filter out. I was curious if anybody has this installed on their Ecoboost trucks? If so, any engine codes being thrown or any annoying underhood sounds. They also have an oiled version (#400-239). Both are making 20hp / 39lb-ft with dyno results

adding an air filter that doesn't collect dirt as well as stock can cause issues on a turbo'd vehicle. It was a big thing people were concerned about on diesels. Most on the 6.0's didn't swap over until they broke the 500 hp mark which is over a 200 hp gain at the wheels.

I'd tune before i did an intake. Will give much more noticeable power and better fuel economy than an intake for not much more. Chances of me ever doing another intake is probably not great unless i started changing alot of parts out where it was required.

I hear you 06. The problem is I really didn't want to dig into the computer on this truck. Seeing the modest gain and the ease of going back to stock for warranty issues opened my eyes on this product. I still haven't found an exhaust I like the sound of (I know V6's don't sound "trucky" and no system will). So I'll just add a nice tip, baloney cut just under the fender.
I'll probally get the non-oiled filter and report back with my findings. It's a little pricey, but still not bad to gain the claimed 20hp*. I don't take the truck in very dirty conditions and supposedly the dry filters clean just as well as stock.

Coming from the 3V world I won't add an intake without custom tuning.

A dropin filter does absolutely nothing for you.

Airraid does make a good product. As glc mentioned, no gain likely from a drop-in filter.

I know filters rarely increase power, especially on naturally aspirated motors, but boosted motors respond well to them. The company is claiming 20hp in writing with dyno results. It seems they have a lot to lose if it's B.S. After X-mas I'll order one. If anything, for the ease of never buying another filter again. All diesels improve with them, so I see no difference with the EB. Too bad I don't have easy access to a dyno.
