heater on high makes a whistle

i took my 09 f150 with less than 26k miles. it just started whistling out of the vents when i turn the blower all the way up. the dealership originally said it wasnt normal and changed the blower out and i still have a the whistle. now that dealer says this is a "normal" condition....anyone else have this issue? im ready to call ford and complain. this was a $57k truck it shouldnt be doing this and it sure the hell isnt normal.

Mine does the same thing when the blower is in high, also an 09, around 30k on the miles. And it whistles when the air is recirculating as well

mine does not do it on recirc. it also goes away with a door or window open....however when you drive and need the heat on i would hope the doors are closed and the windows up as well haha. the first dealer told me after they replaced the blower motor that the noise was normal....knowing infact it wasnt that is the reason they changed the blower motor! so took it to a 2nd dealer and im sitting in a rental car now as they said it was not normal but would take them some time to try and find the problem.

I keep the rear vents open for this very reason.

As jhunt47 said.... don't rule the rear vents out. Check it out before taking it in the shop.
If they have to remove the IP, so be it. As long as it get's fixed.

the rear vents were open. i agree the repair will be fine if it goes well but cant help but think about them having "extra screws" when its all said and done. its is a huge pet peeve of mine for things to rattle when driving down the road.

My 2010 does it regardless of vents open or closed. Annoying as hell.

Why would you pay $57k for a F-150?

He could be from Canada, F150s retail for quite a bit more up there.
