Sat radio drop outs
Sat radio drop outs
I have been having allot of sat radio drop outs the past couple of days. Today I called Sirius. They told me there is a problem with all ford products. You have to go to dealer and have them update software. A new software update was released on Nov 21. I brought my truck in last week for service, and mentioned the drop outs. Dealer found no problem. I will stop by dealer tomorrow and see if Sirius is lying or true. I will let you know what dealer says.
Had same issue on wifes 2010 Edge where it would randomly lose reception and blank out. Had to turn the stereo off and back on again to make it work. Took it to the dealer and they claimed that Sirius did an update to something and of course blamed it on them. Seems to be working better, but I don't drive it but maybe once a week so I can't be sure. But apparently Ford knows it's an issue.
I had a similar issue. If you register online with sirius, you can direct the satellite to send a reset signal to your radio. I assume you can call sirius and have them do it as well. Completely solved my problem.

Called sirius. They did a soft reset. Did not solve problem. The thing is it does it in the same area in the city. I think there is interference, possibly from WiFi. The frequency bands are very close together.
