Dashboard lighting

2010 F-150 When I turn on the lights when it's raining or overcast the dashboard lights don't come on , I've tried the dimmer switch nothing changes.

The speedometer mileage is shown and the temperature along with the radio station.

I was wondering if there's a outside sensor somewhere to keep the lights off until it's dark and if there is can I disable it becuse when I put the headlights on I want everthing to light up. Please advise.

PS: Seems like they light at dark with no problem.

Put a piece of black electrical tape over the right hand side of the sensor, trouble over!
