09 F150 intake

Hey guys its been ages since I've been on here! I want to get a intake for my 2009 4.6 2valve but I think I have read before that the intakes dont really help MPG or horsepower on the 09 models. But I have been out of the loop for a 2 years so fill me in! Thanks for any replies!

i had an intake on my 07 4.6, sound was pretty much all it gave me. If you are after mpg or power there are better ways for around the same price to start.

Save your money. I have the same engine. It's a slug, and nothing will change that. And the "Gott's mod" is useless on 2009+. All you can do with this truck is remove the air snorkle. Tried it, and didn't notice a thing. But since the truck draws in warmer air without the snorkle, I'm sure it reduces power and efficiency overall.

As far as mileage, it's completely dependent on how you drive. If I beat my truck up around the city, I've gotten as little as 13mpg. If I'm gentle on the highway, I get up to 23mpg. But on average, with 90% city driving, I average 16mpg.

I'm sure it could be a little better if I was very light on the throttle, but the sweet sound of my Magnaflow exhaust makes me hit the gas just a little bit more.

Buy a tuner instead. Best mod you can do for performance.

I installed an AFE (C)AI, 3" Catback and a SuperChips Flashpag and went from 15 city/17 combined/19 mpg hi-way to 17 city/18.3 combined/21 mpg hi-way.

It was peppier off the line and in daily driving as well as hi-way driving/passing. This was with the SC Flashpaq 87 tune and Shell gas on my 2007.5 (248 HP) 4.6-2V STX SCab with 3.55 gears.
