Pumped!
Pumped!
Hello everyone. I'm pretty pumped, heading to pick up my brand new 2011 F150 FX4 5.0 Screw tomorrow at noon! Have been driving a jeep the last 9 years. Never really got into the mods on it but prior to that i spent a ton of cash on a 90 mustang 5.0 lx. Looking forward to adding to this beauty and i've learned alot by reading these forms already. Suggestions on first mods??
Congrats!
Just last Wednesday I picked up my 2011 Lariat EB Scab w/6.5' bed... awesome trucks! I almost got a Screw, but wanted the 6.5' bed without making the truck any longer.
Which bed did you get on yours?

congrats, i just picked mine up this week... and am loving it more every day...but i got to tell ya, i wasnt pumped... I have always LOVED my 2002 scab FX4 with a 8ft bed!!
dark blue two tone...the truck always looked nice...and it treated me well.. and I had no payments for the last 4 years...
so I was as dissapointed as i was happy for a new truck...of course i dont love the new payments...but I like the confidence of a new truck going into hunting season/winter.
but now I have played with it...it is great it seems like its a foot higher in ride too!!! more power!!!!, just thrilled so far.
I saw a 6.5ft bed screw in two tone black!!! SWEET looking truck...I loved the black, but since i go off road and down a lot of dirt roads...it would get scratched and look terrible in a few years....
the screw seems like its several grand more than the same truck in scab...
dont take passegers enough to justify seating them in comfort!!! ha ha
stayed with the scab...in 6.5 ft bed....its a trade off... sharper looking, easier turning and backing up, and less capacity for building products( 8ft stuff)
enjoy!!!

So far so GREAT! I ended up with 5.5' bed, there wasn't much else available in the area. If i find i need the extra foot i'll invest in a bed extender. purchased a black one with black interior upgraded cloth. Not a leather fan. Also got as little chrome as possiable. Not a shinny kinda guy. As for the eco boost. i don't see myself pulling anything huge so thats not a worry. As for the 5.0...you just can't beat that sound! I did purchase the tri fold tannoe cover for it and am very happy with it as well. I think i will hold out till summer and get the linex in the bed.
I have read about a lot of people leveling there trucks. Can someone give me the coles notes version? from what i understand 1.5" blocks on top of rear struts and 2" blocks on front to basically create a small lift and level the vehicle?? yes i know rookie question clearly. Does this not lead to damage to the ball joints etc?? can't imagine the warranty being any good after? I would love to upload a few pics but it wont let me...or maybe i just have no idea how too.
Congrats on the new truck, post some pics!!! The first thing i bought was a set of weathertech floor liners they are awesome. Then I went for the level kit and bigger tires to give it a meaner stance.
