Harley or Limited lower grille in a Lariat?

Hey guys, has anyone tried to put a Harley or Limited lower grille in a standard F-150 bumper bar?

The opening on the bumpers are different. You would have to swap the whole bumper.

Thumbs up

It certainly can be done as I had mine changed recently. But as NASSTY mentioned, you would have to replace the entire bumper.

But I only took upon the switch due to a "mild" front end collision which so happen to damage just the right components that would need to be replaced anyways for an HD/LTD swap. Fortuitous indeed, for me!

There are quite a few different components that are required for the swap, and some items are a little difficult to come by at the dealer, requiring a bit of waiting for the parts to arrive.

Be advised that the HD/LTD bumper is made of urethane mounted on a minimalistic frame, so if you tend to "park by braille" or push deer or people out of the way often, then this bumper may not be for you!

But I'm very much satisfied for the change over!

Tow hooks can no longer be used, however, mine actually weren't removed and fit right behind the protruding lip. Useless, but still there.

It looks as though the new bumper left a fair large gap above the bumper. Is that adjustable?

The photo was right after I drove it out of the shop. I have since adjusted the upper bumper center lower.

I just ordered all of the parts for the Harley/Limited bumper swap from TASCA. They don't have a "kit" per se so you'll have to obtain all the part numbers and send them in for a quote.
BUT...I just happened to have already done the legwork and have a fairly complete parts list including part #'s minus a few nuts a bolts if anyone wants it. I figured I'd dry fit it, note any missing bolts, then order them while the cover is getting painted. Much less stress fitting and adjusting non painted parts.

Also of note is the rubber "skirt" that hangs down from the radiator support. If you retain the original one the holes that normally mount to the lower "air scoop" will not line up with anything on the HD/LTD bumper. I simply punched new holes near the bottom to mount to this plastic "tray" that's part of the HD/LTD bumper located behind the plastic grille.

BTW, once you get yours finished I will probably notice it around here in Sandy Eggo as I don't see any HD/LTD's to begin with, and I doubt anyone else down here has done this mod beyond either of us!

Hey Augster thanks for the tip! Ill keep it in mind when I start fitting things up. Didn't realize you were sd. If you run across a silver fx2 with an HD bumper in the Encinitas area make sure to say what's up!

I drive by Encinitas everyday to and from CPEN, so I will keep an eyeball out for your truck!
