Really tossing the idea around on getting the Boss 302 Intake manifold, Tuner and intake...looks like it adds some good numbers, although It looks like it makes better power up around 7000rpm...


Does anyone have this package? Or any of the components?

I know a couple of mustang guys that just have the manifold and one likes it and the other doesn't, he already put his back to his stock manifold......

BTW.....The tunes and CAI might void your warranty(not the manifold)......if warranty issues are related to them......worth the risk?......maybe and maybe not......

It's your truck and money.....I'm not going to tell you how to spend it....

I'd give them a call. I just orderd a tuner for my 11 5.0 and the service was great, I just have to go pick it up and install it! Cant wait!

 

Warranty void... wouldn't even worry about it...when's last time you heard of some ones voided in a gas truck..
Your not going from 28-30lbs of boost to 65psi in a 6.0 blowing headgaskets like crazy..

Imho ford keeps (every make) keeps vehicles tuned for reliability and longevity. But a tune will add good bit of power and help towing

 

I'm about to order the kit. Everyone I have read about loves it. The mustang gives up a little in the low end and picks up in the higher rpm. The truck picks up in low end stays same through the middle and really picks up in the high rpm.

 

You change the tune from stock and my dealer will void the warranty on the drive train. Wish it was not so, but it is.

 

If your dealer is a Asshat he will.. I had a lift tune wheels tires intake exhaust on my jeep 2010jk. And no issues at all.

 

This is becoming more and more common even with what used to be mod friendly dealers. And with the new generation PCM that is apparently in these trucks they have made it easier to trace and see if there was a tune or modifications done. I know I would not mess with it if it was my brand new $40,000 truck and know I have to pay for a repair that should be covered but now it's not because you had a tune in the truck. If it's an older truck out of warranty I say have it and have fun.

 

Keep the tuners away til your warranty is done unless yur loaded

 

The original BOSS 302 was a high revving engine. The new BOSS 302 is the same way. It's made for high revving road racing. I personally think the BOSS 302 intake looks fantastic. I wouldn't take a risk in voiding my warranty until the factory one has expired. Just my thoughts...

When it comes to warranty its up to the dealers descression and how they are connected to ford motor co......I only posted what I did as an advisory.....not all dealers maintain ford's warranty guidelines either.....

You've got to pay to play.....now days....

BTW....once you've had your warranty voided its voided at ALL dealers.....your vin# gets entered into the oasis data base.....

 

Is the stock intake really that restrictive though?

 

Dealers must get approval prior to doing warranty work on anything very significant. lets say you have a transmission out. before they get the approval to replace it, Ford asks the question about tuners and mods. Ford is the one that says they will or will not replace it under warranty. Also, if a dealer starts getting a large amount of warranty work in a catagory, they get reviewed and possibly shut off by Ford.

 

I understand that it makes power up top. But there is no denying the that the kit as a whole makes like 40 hp/tq gains around 2500 above stock. As far as warranty work I'm not too worried. I won't go into reasons why but I will be fine.
