Changed front marker bulbs.

I know it has been done here before, but I grabbed a set of chrome 3157 marker bulbs off ebay, and got them in. A few pics.

Before.

one side done, one not....

Finished result.

The bulbs, pic borrowed from ebay listing.

And finally, the listing itself.

Yes, they light up orange.

Did you have to remove anything from the lights or is it just the orange bulbs that gave the housing an orange tint? I think it looks good with the whole headlight clear instead of 3/4 clear 1/4 orange

Gawd. This is absolutely AWFUL.

I can't BELIEVE it you did this.

I mean, I've NEVER, EVER stumbled across a MOD and "said, OMFG..."

"...I GOTTA git me some of those," and head straight to eBay and buy them immediately.

You SUCK.

No Murph, just reach up and around the rubber flap and locate the bulb housing assembly. Twist, and pull out. Change out the bulb, and twist it back in. No tools required at all, for either side. Literally a 60 second per side swap.

Hehe, I was being a bit facetious! This mod really looks so good to me and is so cheap, it made me immediately go out and buy it!

you should look into switchbacks I have them in my GTO. They are expensive and I'm not sure if the New F-150 has a load sensing relay if it does probably need to switch that out too.

I second that.. when changing most bulbs just go LED, depending on what and how many you switch out. you will need to put diodes inline with turn and parking, one example would be in my 09 f150. everything inside and out with the exception of the headlamps and puddle lamps are LED.
if the parking or all lights were not "on". and i would turn and or brake. the switchbacks upfront would light up white. becuase the two wires are internally connected with the internal electronics in the bulb itself. it would backfeed, even more so because the smart junction box holds everything above ground when that ckt is not on. i wish i also had the switchback fog lamps. you would definatly be seen when turning with those.
also - depending on personal preference. you might want to install load resistors at some point in the ckt, up front there is more room. this will slow down the flash rate. there is still a definate on-off-on. so i didnt worry about it. cop friend said they were fine. but even he would check to see if fronts were burned out , and initiate a pull over if it was warranted or if a reason were needed. !

everyone have a good week.

I am already in the process of changing some of my bulbs out to LED, but really want Plug-n-Play. From what I've read, most of the replacement LED retrofits already include load resistors, if necessary.

Never heard of the SwitchBacks myself, but I just Googled them and they seem interesting.

The reason I'm sticking with these "chromed" bulbs is that I have clear dual projector aftermarket headlights and these bulbs would look better in them during daylight since they would be very easy to see through the clear lens.

For other housings that obscure the LED's, I will switch to LED's.
